Last month we did a little happy dance here in the office as we saw the launch of an online journal club focusing specifically on topics relevant to palliative care and geriatric medicine. Designed to be a platform in which vets with an interest in this field of care can explore the current literature, discuss cases and learn from each other, journal club is free and open access to everyone. Sessions will run quarterly with our next meeting in October. You can sign up to be notified of all the upcoming details online at www.vetpalcarejc.com.

A massive thanks to the incredible Dr Cheryl Braswell who agreed to lead these sessions for us. Cheryl is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and the Chief of Emergency and Critical Care at a large referral practice in Tennessee, USA. She has a sincere passion for the care of patients with life-limiting diagnoses and believes there is a place for palliative medicine for patients seen in the emergent setting. She is a regular presenter at the IAAHPC annual conferences on all things pain management and end stage care. Cheryl, we are so grateful for your energy, knowledge and dedication to teaching. Thank you and let’s get learning!
