Palliative Care Veterinarian
Dr Naomi is a veterinarian who brings warmth, reassurance, and compassion to every family she supports. She believes deeply in the human-animal bond and finds great meaning in walking alongside pets and their families through both joyful moments and difficult decisions.
Naomi has lived in several locations around Queensland, and she and her family are now happily settled in Bundaberg after wanting to make the move there for many years. Her experiences living and working in different communities have shaped her grounded and empathetic approach to care.
Naomi finds fulfilment in supporting pets through all stages of life. She is particularly passionate about helping senior pets remain comfortable and well supported as their needs change. Her approach focuses on practical care, thoughtful planning, and ensuring families feel guided and informed.
Palliative medicine is especially meaningful to Naomi. She values the opportunity to make a genuine difference during an important and often emotional stage of a pet’s life. For Dr Naomi, palliative care is about easing discomfort, restoring calm, and helping pets spend meaningful time with the people they love.
Special interests: Veterinary behaviour, palliative care, geriatric medicine and general health care.
It always starts with one. Who was your special pet? My love of veterinary medicine was shaped early by my very first Border Collie. I saved up and bought him when I was in Grade 9, and he stayed by my side through the rest of high school and my five years of veterinary school.
He was an old soul and loyal companion, seeing me through many important chapters of my life. He also provided some memorable learning experiences, including teaching me firsthand what happens when a dog eats chocolate. He joined me on countless adventures and helped shape my love of animals and my understanding of the joy and challenges of lifelong care.
What else are you passionate about? Outside of work, Naomi enjoys spending time with her family and shares her home with her dog and two cats. She also loves reading and appreciates the chance to unwind with a good book.
