Sunset Vets is an in-home veterinary care service dedicated to supporting pets with chronic medical needs and those approaching the end stages of life. As a veterinary palliative care team, our vets are committed to helping pets access exceptional care and comfort in the familiarity of their home surroundings, while also guiding families with practical support during what can often be an emotional and uncertain time.
We believe the time at the end of a pet’s life is deeply meaningful. With the right care, it can be a gentle and connected experience for both pets and their families, helping them feel informed and more prepared to navigate the decisions ahead.
We’re so proud to now be supporting families in Bundaberg and surrounding regions, and to introduce Dr Naomi, who brings a deeply empathetic and thoughtful approach to every family she meets.
Meet Dr Naomi – Bundaberg In-Home Vet
Dr Naomi brings warmth, reassurance, and genuine compassion to every family she meets. Her focus is on supporting pets in their senior years, with an emphasis on comfort, quality of life, and the careful management of age-related and chronic conditions.
Her approach has been shaped by years of veterinary experience across Queensland, as well as her own journey as a pet owner. Dr Naomi’s first dog, a Border Collie she first adopted in Grade 9, sparked a lifelong dedication to animals and gave her a deep understanding of both the joy and responsibility that comes with lifelong care.
Today, Naomi combines this personal perspective with deep clinical expertise to provide thoughtful, practical guidance for families caring for older pets. Palliative care is an approach to veterinary care that shifts the focus away from just curing disease, and instead prioritises comfort and quality of life for pets living with complex medical needs or those approaching end of life.
Dr Naomi supports families by helping manage pain, maintain appetite and hydration, support mobility, and make practical adjustments at home so pets can remain as comfortable and settled as possible. She also helps families recognise and understand gradual changes over time, including shifts in energy, movement, and behaviour, so they can feel more confident in their day-to-day care.
In addition to palliative care, Dr Naomi has additional training in behaviour, which allows her to support pets experiencing cognitive decline or behavioural changes associated with ageing. This may include confusion, restlessness, disrupted sleep, or increased anxiety.
These changes can be distressing for families, and a clearer understanding of what is happening can make day-to-day care more manageable and supportive for both pet and owner.
Why Families in Bundaberg Love Dr Naomi
Living and working across Queensland has shaped Dr Naomi’s calm, grounded, and compassionate approach to veterinary care. Now based in Bundaberg, she is proud to support local families and their pets.
Families value her ability to combine clinical knowledge with empathy, offering support that is both practical and emotionally understanding. Whether supporting a senior pet at home, helping manage chronic illness, or guiding families through complex decisions, her focus remains on comfort, dignity, and care tailored to each individual pet.
If your pet is ageing, or experiencing health challenges, Dr Naomi can now help Bundaberg-based families assess comfort, manage symptoms, and provide support with her compassionate in-home veterinary care.
