Dr Tracey

Palliative Care Veterinarian

Dr Tracey Veterinarian Brisbane

Our wonderful Dr Tracey graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1992 and has dedicated her career to caring for pets and their families throughout Brisbane’s northside. Her passion for education also led her to spend six years teaching pathophysiology of disease to nursing students, a role she found both rewarding and inspiring.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr Tracey enjoys life in the Moreton Bay region with her husband, three sons, her son’s partner, and her mother. Completing the family is Sombra, their adored Doberman, who happily embraces her role as the princess of the household.

It always starts with one. Who was your special pet? Penny was a Doberman my parents had when I was a toddler. In the days before secure fencing was common, she would often wander the neighbourhood visiting friends and neighbours. Penny was incredibly friendly, although she occasionally returned home with a ‘treasure’ she had borrowed from someone’s clothesline or backyard. She sparked my love of Dobermans and began a lifelong passion for animals.

What else are you passionate about? Our family has a strong love of football and spent many years involved in our local football club while our children were growing up. We are enthusiastic supporters of both the Matildas and the Socceroos. In my spare time, I enjoy musical theatre, bushwalking, and reading.

What do you love about hospice medicine? I love helping palliative patients remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible, allowing them to enjoy the best quality of life they can.

I also value supporting families through this special stage of their pet’s journey, helping them feel informed, confident, and supported in making the most of the time they have together.
