Thank you Dr Cherrie and the Sunset Vets team for your kind and considerate care in our time of need.
With aching hearts we said goodbye to Cooper in early August 2022 after 1.5 years bravely battling seizures and aging ailments, and 12.5 years richer for having known, loved and cared for our beloved little pup.
Cooper, in these weeks since you’ve been gone, I’ve missed your sounds around the house most.
The “chick-chick” of your collar as you ask to go outside, or the paw scratching the back door when I didn’t hear the first time.
The “THUD” as you flop on your side – it’s been a tough day. The “chit-chit-chit” as your nails clack on the wooden floor, trying to find me on the other side of the house.
The short, sharp sniffs and stare as I prepare your dinner, or the deep sigh you exhale and lick your lips waiting patiently at the kitchen door.
The deeply thoughtful growls you let go of as you tell me all about your day, taking most of my weight cuddling and listening – head on your shoulder.
Thank you for blessing my life – our lives – with your presence: the sounds, the smiles, the many beautiful memories (and even the farts too, let’s be honest!).
I’ll continue to hold your unconditional love and warmth in my heart as you rest in peace with Mum and all our other angels.
Love you forever Coopy, until we meet again <3
