Patient Care Coordintor

Nikki joined the Sunset Vets Care team after working as a veterinary receptionist, which she loved. Throughout her career, Nikki worked in other industries, but with a passion for animals, Nikki loved working in the veterinary industry and is thrilled to be working with families and helping animals at Sunset Vets.

Nikki moved to Australia from the United Kingdom over 11 years ago. She settled in the Sunshine Coast with her four beautiful children and loves the beaches and the lifestyle that Australia provides.

It always starts with one. Who was your special pet?

My beautiful cats Hybury and Flower. They were born at home, and both lived to the ripe old age of 23 so they were a huge part of my life.

What else are you passionate about?

I am passionate about my family, camping and baking. I love living on the Sunshine Coast and feel very blessed with the lifestyle we have. Our family has also grown, and we now have three beautiful grandchildren who take up a lot of my time, but who I love so much!

What do you love about Palliative Care?

Palliative care allows you to help animals and their families have the best goodbye possible. It’s such an important aspect of veterinary medicine and one which allows for gentle care right up to the end.

Such an amazing, wonderful and supportive team. Saying goodbye to my little girl was hard, but the Sunset team took so much of the burden. They helped arrange cremation at a time when I could barely get 2 words out between sobs and were patient and helpful when I changed my mind about what time I wanted them to come. Your compassion and support helped us navigate what was for us a truly traumatic day and for that we will be forever grateful. So thankyou to the whole team for everything you have done as well as all the knowledge you have shared which enabled us to give Eddie such a happy and healthy life.

Thank you to the extraordinary team at Sunset Vets who provided a high level of care and compassion when we recently had to say goodbye to our 14-year-old girl, Jewel. Allowing her to go at home in familiar surroundings made the process less stressful for her, our younger dog and ourselves. Special thanks to Ashlee for her compassionate manner on the phone (who arranged this for us at short notice)... and Dr Jan who was gentle and caring when it mattered most. We're grateful you've provided this service on the Sunshine Coast.
